CHANDRA X RAY TELESCOPE

Chandra X Ray Telescope
On July 23, 1999, Space Shuttle Columbia has launched from Kennedy Space Center to deliver the Chandra X-ray Telescope. it has changed our observation and understanding for the observed universe across a couple of decades and has contributed a lot to our space research science.

it's is one of NASA's observatories as much as  the Hubble Space Telescope, Spitzer Space Telescope, and Compton Gamma Ray Observatory. It has the sharpest vision ever built of any X-ray telescope . Chandra is often used in together with Hubble and Spitzer that observe in different parts of the universe, and with other high-energy missions like XMM-Newton and NASA's NuSTAR.

The discoveries of Chandra X Ray Telescope  have impacted on every aspect of astrophysics. For example, Chandra was involved in a direct Dark Matter evidence of existence project. It has witnessed powerful eruptions from super-massive black holes. also it has been used by astronomers  to map the essential existence of elements to life are spread from supernova explosions.
The Smithsonian Observatory

The NASA Marshal center for space runs the operations of Chandra Observatory. The Chandra X Ray Observatory controls The NASA Smithsonian observatory from Cambridge in the fields of science. in the year 2018, NASA had granted the contract to Chandra X Ray Observatory to continue on space research and enrich the scientific society till 2024.

Many of the phenomena that Chandra is studying now were not known even when the telescope was developed and built after it was first put on NASA in 1976. For example, astronomers now use Chandra to study the effects of dark energy, test the effect of stellar radiation on exoplanets, and observe the results Gravitational wave events.

The Chandra X Ray observatory was named in owner of the late Nobel laureate Subramanian Chandrasekhar.
