Some objects are very small so that it cannot be seen by the naked eye, thus we use the microscope to magnify an image of such objects. The magnification ratio of an optical device is the size of the resulting image divided by the size of the actual body. For example, if the magnified image of the object was adapted to 100x, this means that the image is larger than the body one hundred times.

The optical microscope uses glass lenses to form a magnified image. The simplest type of optical magnifiers is the convex lens. it's a convex lens with a handle we move it freely above tiny objects then the body image is clear magnified. Another type of magnifiers is the lab Microscope, used in medical research laboratories and its composed of a set of two lenses on the holder, a Base to lay the object on it and a light source from bottom under the glass base. this microscope uses in the process of magnification only two lenses, which are one of them, we look at from above and the other is focused on the laid object and both are perpendicular to each other inside a tube. the lenses could be modified to close dimensions between each other, facing the laid object, the light source is focusing light on the tiny object laid on the glass base until the viewer's eye have a clear vision of the object configuration.

The light source focus on the glass base, the focus lens magnifies the object 100 times for example, and give a reversed photo of the object, then the viewer lens magnifies this image another 100 times bigger, the object then was magnified 100 X 100 = 10000 times, this is simply how it works. When a bigger photo is needed for the tiniest objects, the "electron microscope" is used, the light source is, in this case, an electron beam, the electron is a very tiny object that cannot be seen with the naked eye, and is a part of the atom in general, the lenses position modification here does not yield any results, but instead in convex lenses it's been used a magnetic lenses. when the electron beam packets are directed to the object that needs studying, the electrons ejected from the sample object atoms and particles, facing the magnetic lens, and the image is clear to the viewer.

Even though the electron beam packets is invisible, the final images are clearly visible as the picture appears on the TV screen and may zoom up to one million times.

These powerful magnifications enable scientists to study precise objects to know their secrets. This makes the electronic microscope a very valuable research tool in the various fields of science in medicine, chemistry, physics and others.
